CDFI and ANTA sign deal to expand retail across Asia
The partnership will focus on key Belt and Road markets.
China Duty Free International Co., Ltd. (CDFI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with ANTA Southeast Asia to expand duty-free and duty-paid retail businesses across Asia.
The agreement follows the successful launch of ANTA’s first store in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in October last year.
The partnership will focus on key Belt and Road markets, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka, with additional expansion planned in Hong Kong and Macau.
Both companies aim to build a long-term strategic partnership and support ANTA’s plan to open 1,000 stores globally.
Under the MOU, CDFI and ANTA will leverage their respective strengths in branding, product development, retail operations, and channel management. The partnership will adopt a phased approach, initially targeting markets such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka, while also exploring opportunities in other high-potential regions.
The new agreement is expected to deepen coordination in supply chain management and retail execution, enhancing competitiveness and customer experience.
Both parties also plan to explore diverse cooperation models, including duty-free store openings, expansion into duty-paid retail, and joint operations tailored to local regulatory and market conditions.
CDFI, which oversees the overseas expansion of China Tourism Group Duty Free Corporation, brings extensive experience in global duty-free travel retail and a well-established international network. Meanwhile, ANTA Southeast Asia manages a portfolio of brands including ANTA, Salomon, DESCENTE, and Wilson, supported by a robust supply chain and growing international retail expertise.
Backed by China Tourism Group, CDFI said it will continue to support international expansion efforts under its “China-Chic” strategy.
