Rakuten Seiyu Netsuper, Inc. to be become a subsidiary of Rakuten

Services under Rakuten Seiyu Netsuper will remain unaffected yet improved.

Rakuten Group, Inc. and Seiyu Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement to make Rakuten Seiyu Netsuper, Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rakuten Group.

Under the agreement, Rakuten will oversee the operations of Rakuten Seiyu Netsuper and its respective fulfillment centers. Meanwhile, Seiyu will be modified into a stand-alone online supermarket entity with shipments from its physical stores.

During the move, operations and services for Rakuten Seiyu Netsuper will remain unaffected, yet it will find room for improvements over its convenient online grocery features.

Established in April 2018, Rakuten Seiyu Netsuper is a joint venture of Rakuten and Seiyu offering fresh produce and prepared foods, to cater to the evolving needs of customers.
