Alibaba.com inks MOI with IMDA, EnterpriseSG to help SMEs export

A dedicated Singapore pavilion will be allotted on Alibaba.com’s homepage.

Busines-to-business (B2B) platform Alibaba.com signed a memorandum of intent with Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Enterprise Singapore to provide assistance to reinforce cross-border e-commerce capabilities of the local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

In a statement, Alibaba.com said the programme will include the launch of a dedicated Singapore pavilion that will allow the SMEs to showcase their products on the platform’s homepage to boost their export opportunities.

The platform will also collaborate with the two agencies to improve the pilot Go Global programme, including curating Go Global packages that will allow SMEs to easily access B2B trade opportunities.

SMEs can access various Alibaba.com tools and services such as specialised digital marketing tools and performance analytics, and a dedicated consultancy and advisory services. 

They can also register with the Alibaba.com Seller Training E-course which includes a monthly training session and third-party training about site designing.

Eligible SMEs can get up to 70% funding support when they avail of the Go Global programme.
