JD Logistics revenue rises over 42% in 2021
Its total revenue stood at RMB104.b during the year.
JD Logistics (JDL) reported its total revenue grew 42.7% year-on-year (YoY) to RMB104.7b in 2021 largely due to external customers.
Revenue from external customers accounted for 56.5% of the total revenue for 2021, which is the first year since the company launched its initial public offering.
The company noted its external integrated supply chain customers rose “significantly” by 41.7% YoY to 74,602 during the year.
Moreover, as of December 2021, JDL operated more than 1,300 warehouses, and over 7,200 delivery stations.
It also created jobs for more than 200,000 in-house delivery personnel.
JDL operates automated warehouses overseas including the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and the Netherlands amongst others.
At present, it has nearly 80 total bonded and overseas warehouses.
The company also invested some RMB2.8b in technology innovation, reflecting a 37% YoY increase.
As of December 2021, JDL applied over 5,500 patents and software licenses, which includes 3,000 licenses related to automation technology and unmanned technology.
It also piloted 5G in Asia, particularly in logistics parks in Changsha and Beijing in China, as well as deployed nearly 400 Level-4 autonomous delivery vehicles into daily operations for last-mile delivery.
