Hotel gives new meaning to room service

A hotel in Amsterdam has taken the concept of inflight shopping and adapted it to the hotel industry with the launch of a new Room Shopping service.

According to trend watching site, Springwise, Amsterdam’s Dylan Hotel is allowing guests to select products from the local shopping district’s website, 9straatjesonline, and have the purchases delivered to the hotel room within the hour.

The service is available to guests who purchase a special package, which includes a night in a double room, breakfast, and a Room Shopping menu showcasing products from the local shopping district.

Guests also receive a discount on purchases of more than 100 euros.
