Vipul Chawla is the Group Chief Executive Officer of FairPrice Group, which comprises NTUC FairPrice, Kopitiam, NTUC Foodfare, and NTUC Link social enterprises. The Group has over 570 touch points across the island and employs almost 13,000 staff, with an annual turnover of over $4.5 billion.
Vipul is responsible for ensuring that FairPrice Group maintains its balance between profit and purpose - he guides the business in delivering on its social mission to keep daily essentials within reach for all, while maintaining its operational sustainability for the long term.
Vipul brings 30 years of retail industry experience to his role as Group CEO - prior to joining the organisation in 2022, he led Fortune 500 companies across the world based in global hubs such as the UK, US, and Singapore. In his previous role, he was the Division President for Pizza Hut International, a part of Yum! Brands Inc. - the world’s largest restaurant company with an excess of 50,000 restaurants globally.
Vipul led Pizza Hut International’s digital transformation, spearheading its transition into a purpose-driven, digitally enabled business. Under his management, the company increased its digital engagement from 15 percent to 60 percent. He oversaw more than 350,000 employees across 110 countries.
In 2013, he was named as one of the 50 leading marketers in Asia by the Internationalist.

Joining the PUMA family in 2006, Sanjay was a founding team member of PUMA India and was instrumental in establishing PUMA’s market leadership position. Particularly in India, he helped the brand grow to be the number one sportswear brand, delivering a double-digit bottom line while creating a strong presence for the brand in every major trade channel.
Sanjay joined PUMA SEA’s leadership team in 2020, leading the market with his nuanced understanding of operations and challenges of both offline and online channels clubbed with consumer behaviour.
In 2023, Sanjay added the Oceania market to his portfolio, serving as Managing Director of PUMA Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEAO), based in Singapore.
- In his previous role as the General Manager of PUMA SEA, he was responsible for developing the region’s e-commerce, wholesale, and franchise business functions.
- He oversaw the digital transformation of PUMA SEA market, leading the region’s expansion into the e-commerce sphere – this contributed to a triple-digit percentage growth in sales figures after just one year (2019 – 2020).
- Prior to his roles in PUMA SEAO and PUMA SEA, Sanjay was instrumental in making PUMA the no. 1 sportswear brand in India, ahead of other competitor brands with a market share of almost 35%.
- Sanjay also set up PUMA’s web shop in India and drove the aggressive expansion of PUMA’s e-commerce marketplace business.
- Sanjay has been a key driver of customer relationships and an early adopter of technology, e-commerce, and omnichannel business practices.
He has a strong, thorough understanding of global markets and technological advances. This has resulted in a robust and agile business model, allowing PUMA to offer customers a modern, seamless retail experience with the world’s fastest sports and lifestyle brand.
