Lance Canavan is the Managing Director of Guardian Vietnam, a member of the DFI Retail Group, where he has been in role since July 2025.
Since joining DFI Retail Group in 2020, Lance has held various leadership roles within the Food business in Hong Kong, where he oversaw brands such as Wellcome, Market Place, 3hreesixty, and Olivers. In this role, he played a pivotal part in driving commercial innovation, and leading transformation of store branding and design.
With over 15 years of retail experience across Food, Liquor, and Health & Beauty sectors, Lance has a wealth of Global retail experience to his leadership. His career spans three continents, beginning in the UK with Tesco PLC, followed by Coles Group in Australia, before joining DFI Retail Group.
Lance holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and theology from the University of Birmingham and has completed an executive leadership programme at INSEAD.
