What APAC cross-border shoppers look for in a brand

Brand values are important for cross-border shoppers.

Nearly three in five shoppers in the Asia Pacific region made a cross-border purchase during the year-end Mega Sale days in 2021, according to a report by Meta.

In making their purchase, however, shoppers from the region are giving importance to brand values.

The report found that around half or 46% of the shoppers are looking at socially responsible brands, and around two in five of 42% are considering ethical/fair trade business practices. Around 41% are considering sustainability in their purchases.

Meanwhile, it also showed that 33% of the APAC cross-border shoppers start their shopping earlier, by around end-November, than regular shoppers.

Around 70% of the cross-border shoppers in the region have also messaged a business in the year-end, Meta said, noting that they cited convenience and instant response with a live person as the top reasons for messaging.
