SM Prime adds 40,000 sqm logistics space for Shopee partners

Facility supports SPX Express and Scommerce

SM Warehouses, a unit of SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SM Prime), has turned over a 40,000-square-metre logistics facility in Pasig City for Shopee partners SPX Express (SPX) and Scommerce Philippines Inc. (Scommerce).

The new facility brings SM Prime’s total logistics space for Shopee’s logistics partners in Pasig and Laguna to more than 126,000 square metres.

SPX previously signed a multi-year lease for about 86,000 square metres at SM Prime’s 130,000-square-metre Silangan Warehouse complex in Laguna.

The Pasig facility will serve as an urban distribution hub, bringing inventory closer to customers across Metro Manila. It is designed for high-volume operations and is expected to increase processing capacity and shorten last-mile delivery times.

The Silangan facility will support regional fulfilment and sorting operations, connecting Southern Luzon to SPX’s nationwide distribution network.

Scommerce provides warehousing and fulfilment solutions to sellers and businesses on the Shopee platform.

SM Prime Commercial Properties Group business unit head Alexis Ortiga said the expanded partnership with SPX and Scommerce supports businesses and local MSMEs through well-located and adaptable logistics spaces.

SPX Express head Martin Yu said the Pasig hub will help increase processing speed and reduce delivery times, complementing the company’s operational base in Laguna. “As e-commerce evolves, our logistics infrastructure must grow with it,” he said. “Our facility in Silangan, Laguna established a strong operational base.”

SM Warehouses provides logistics and distribution spaces across the Philippines, including ready-to-move-in, greenfield and build-to-suit facilities ranging from 5,000 square metres to more than 120,000 square metres.
