Shopee to hit $1b adjusted earnings in 2026: Sea CEO Li
Thet e-commerce platform delivered a strong first half period, Li said.
Sea Limited’s net income rose 10.6% year on year (YoY) to $586.73m (US$458.1m) in Q2, its latest financial report showed.
The Singapore-based tech company, best known as the operator of e-commerce platform Shopee, reported a revenue of $9.99b (US$7.8b) for the quarter, up 48.1% YoY. Gross profit rose 47.3% YoY to $4.48b (US$3.5b) for the same period.
Shopee delivered a strong first half period, said Forrest Li, chairman and CEO of Sea.
“We again achieved new highs in [gross merchandise value (GMV)], gross order volume and revenue in the second quarter. Our improving operational efficiency and growing scale have strengthened our unit economics,” Li said in the Q2 financial results announcement, published 11 August.
Li is optimistic that Shopee will achieve $1.28b (US$1b) in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the full year of 2026.
Shopee’s GMV rose 28.4% YoY to $49.06b (US$38.3b) in Q2, and revenue expanded 48.2% YoY to $7.17b (US$5.6b). Gross orders totaled 4.2 billion for the quarter.
Monee, Sea’s digital finance arm, saw revenue rise 58.9% YoY to $1.79b (US$1.4b) in Q2, whilst adjusted EBITDA rose 12.8% YoY to $368.89m (US$288m).
